WHAT TO DO NOW
THE DEATH GUARD OF NURGLE

Once your models have been primed with Chaos Black Spray Primer, painting can begin. Below, you will find a simple-but-effective colour scheme using only 12 colours. Follow the detailed instructions and check out the stage-by-stage images as you paint your model for reference. Don't fret if the model doesn't come out picture perfect in the end. Painting takes time and practice to master. Just do the best you can each time and be open to learning new techniques from others. Before you know it, you'll be quite an accomplished painter with models you'll be proud to game with!

1

Taking care to leave the recesses of the armour Chaos Black, basecoat the armour with Bestial Brown. Paint Kommando Khaki on the skulls and spikes. Paint Catachan Green on the trim for the armour, bolter, and backpack. Apply Tin Bitz to the piping and other "metal" parts of the model.

To get that dirty, diseased feel so emblematic of Nurgle, apply a watered-down mix of Chestnut Ink over everything.

3

Now, highlight raised areas of the model with the base colours used in Step 1 above. By doing this highlighting, you are establishing the foundation for highlights in the next step.

4

Apply your second layer of highlighting with Graveyard Earth for the armour. Highlight the skulls and spikes with Bleached Bone. Use Camo Green to highlight the trim on the armour, bolter, and backpack.

5

Finish the armour highlights with Snakebite Leather. Highlight the raised areas of the skull and spikes with Skull White. Use Rotting Flesh to highlight the edges of the trim on the armour, bolter, and backpack. Highlight the piping and other metal parts with Boltgun Metal to give them a rusty look.
